The Owens House — Dining Room/Craft Room
The structure also features a dining room that has been converted into a work room (with the addition of a spinning wheel and a loom).
Since the aunts are always making things - dipping candles, turning lye into skin-nourishing black soap, spinning wool, knitting sweaters - Standefer thought the dining room should double as a craft room.
Inlaid in its wainscotting are etchings of birds and flowers reminiscent of the painting on the living room walls. For the window, Standefer lined them with embroidered sheer panels from Osborne & Little.
